Hasselt Fashion Museum

2026

Since 1988, Hasselt Fashion Museum has pioneered Belgium’s fashion landscape, building a collection of exceptional breadth and championing emerging talent long before the wider industry took notice. Yet, despite nearly forty years of institutional depth, its lack of a clear visual identity left it overshadowed by and easily confused with its Antwerp counterpart. The rebrand addresses this vulnerability, shifting the institution from Modemuseum Hasselt to Hasselt Fashion Museum to assert its earned authority. The new identity acts as a deliberate framework of restraint, designed to frame the collection rather than compete with it. A quiet typographic hierarchy and an open, robust visual language replace institutional obscurity with public accessibility. It is a system built on the power of stepping back without disappearing – granting a pioneering museum the presence, clarity, and historical weight its ambition demands.
